Comment on Dressage Working Student by Chelsea M. Akavickas

Hello,

My name is Chelsea Akavickas. I am a passionate dressage/event rider looking for a long term Working Student position in order to persue a career in the equine industry.

I have been riding dressage for eleven years, and have trained and shown my arabian mare to second level. I have been lucky enough to school some upper level movements, such as passage, piaffe, and tempis, though the opportunity for such schooling has been limited. I recently purchased a five-year-old RPSI gelding who I hope to show at first level this season. I have jumped up to 3'3, but have always said that I like jumping, but I love dressage. I have ridden in clinics with Brad Hall, Amy Larson, and Anne Gribbons.

I have expirience working with stallions and high risk pregnancy mares. I've also worked with foals and yearlings, and helped start young horses and broken out ponies.

I'm a hard-working, dedicated individual who pays special attention to detail. I dont need to be micro-managed, I take the initiative to see that the feed room needs sweeping, a horse is running the fence line after his companion has been taken out and should be brought inside, things such as that. I work well with others, but also have no problem working alone. I'm able to work long hours doing hard, unglamorous labor and have a posotive attitude while doing it. I jump at the chance to learn in and out of the saddle, I'm an enthusiastic learner when it comes to anything involving horses.

I have several references available from my current dressage instructor and the owner of the boarding stable where I currently work as a part time stable hand.

I would love to speak with you and learn a bit more about your program!

Thank you for your time, I look forward to your reply,
Sincerely,
Chelsea Akavickas

Hello,
My name is Helen Trimeloni and I will be graduating from college this June. I am 21 years old.
I have been involved in dressage and eventing for 10+ years and am currently focusing solely on dressage. I have shown my own horse up to 4th level and have worked at stables part-time throughout school and can braid, groom, clean stalls, drive a trailer, administer first aid, longe, wrap, and handle stallions. I am a hard worker and avid learner and can provide references upon request, along with answering any other questions.
Thank you in advance for any consideration,
Helen Trimeloni

Mr. & Mrs. Cooper,
My name is Rochelle Osburn, I am 22yo a female and I am inquiring about your working student position you have available. I have been riding horses for 18yrs, in hunters, jumpers, dressage and eventing. I have worked with TBs, QHs, WBs, etc. of all levels of training. I currently have a Hanoverian that I am working at 2nd level dressage. I have also competed novice-prelim eventing. I have lived on a horse farm my entire life and I know what it takes to maintain the barn. I have a very strong work ethic, I enjoy working and being outside 365 days a year. I do not complain, I understand how to take directions and I will do whatever asked. I was recently laid off after 5yrs of working as a mail carrier for the USPS and right now I have been struggling to find another source of income. I think I would be a great addition to your farm because riding and being around horses is my passion! If you have any further questions, please call me at your convenience (434)664-8940

Thank You,
Rochelle
